Who would have known this little hippie fest on a 600-acre dairy farm would turn out to be one of the most important events in American music history. Woodstock will be celebrating its golden year this August 16-18 in Watkins Glen, NY.

Making its return from its first inception will be Santana,John Fogerty (then with CCR) David Crosby,Canned Heat,John Sebatina,Country Joe McDonald.. Robert Plant who’s Led Zepplin did not attend the 1969 version will be performing with The Sensational Space Shifters.

“Woodstock 1969 was a reaction by the youth of its time and the conditions we faced,” says Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang. “We proved that it is possible to live together in harmony and with compassion…with only our best selves represented. Woodstock gave people around the world hope, which is why I think it remains relevant today.”
