Dangerbird Records has announced the special digital release of Sumday: Excess Baggage, a thirteen-track album of rarities and b-sides from the band. The album is set to be released on August 25. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the lead single, “The Town where I’m Livin Now,” along with an official music video.

Sumday: Excess Baggage offers fans a chance to hear a digital version of the collection before its physical release as part of the Sumday Twunny 20th Anniversary Boxed Set, which was announced earlier this summer and is set to be released on September 1.

The band’s critically acclaimed album Sumday has garnered praise for its infectious melodies, focused arrangements, and introspective lyrics. Pitchfork describes it as “glorious” and Rolling Stone notes that frontman Jason Lytle has entered the “lyrical big leagues” with unassuming songs about life’s complexities. SPIN calls it a “warm and deeply engaging snapshot” of personal relationships and existential themes.

Fans can watch the official music video for “The Town where I’m Livin Now” and look forward to the digital release of Sumday: Excess Baggage on August 25, followed by the physical release as part of the Sumday Twunny 20th Anniversary Boxed Set on September 1.
