The Pretenders Announce U.S. Summer Headline Tour and Special Guest Appearances with Foo Fighters
This summer, the iconic rock band The Pretenders will grace stages across the United States, embarking on a headline tour that promises to be one of the season’s most anticipated musical events. Starting July 13 at the historic Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, NJ, the tour will weave through the country until mid-August, showcasing the band’s enduring appeal and the timeless quality of their music.
Ticket presales for the tour are set to begin on Wednesday, March 20 at 10:00 am (local time), with all remaining tickets going on sale to the general public on Friday, March 22 at 10:00 am (local time). Fans are encouraged to visit the band’s official website, thepretenders.com, for complete ticketing details and tour information.
In addition to their headline dates, The Pretenders will also join the Foo Fighters for an array of stadium shows across the U.S., including performances in New York City’s Citi Field, Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park, Minneapolis’s Target Field, Denver’s Empower Field at Mile High, Los Angeles’s BMO Stadium, Portland’s Providence Park, and Seattle’s T-Mobile Park. These special guest appearances alongside one of rock’s most formidable bands highlight The Pretenders’ significant influence and respected status within the music industry.
Following the U.S. dates, The Pretenders will head to Europe and the UK for a nearly sold-out headline tour. This leg will see them perform in several countries, including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Poland, France, and the United Kingdom, with the tour culminating in a sold-out show at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on October 28.
The band’s busy touring schedule follows the release of their latest studio album, Relentless, available now via Rhino Records. Produced by David Wrench at London’s Battery Studios, Relentless is the second album to feature the songwriting collaboration between founder Chrissie Hynde and Pretenders guitarist James Walbourne, following 2020’s Hate For Sale. With tracks like “Losing My Sense Of Taste,” “A Love,” and the Jonny Greenwood-assisted “I Think About You Daily,” the album has received widespread acclaim, with critics praising its brilliant songwriting and declaring it the best Pretenders album in two decades.
Relentless showcases The Pretenders’ continued evolution while staying true to the sound that has made them one of rock’s most enduring bands. With their upcoming tour and the recent success of their latest album, The Pretenders remain a vital and compelling force in music, ready to captivate audiences old and new with their legendary performance energy and a catalog of hits that spans over four decades.
Fans of The Pretenders won’t want to miss the opportunity to see the band live this summer and fall, as they continue to cement their legacy as rock and roll luminaries. With a mix of headline shows and festival appearances, there’s no better time to experience the powerful live presence of The Pretenders.
