OFF! Announces Farewell Shows Alongside Theatrical Release of “Free LSD”
Hardcore punk supergroup OFF! is set to bid farewell with a series of electrifying final shows in July, coinciding with the theatrical premieres of their film “Free LSD”. Comprising legendary figures from the punk rock scene, including original members Keith Morris of Circle Jerks/Black Flag and Dimitri Coats of Burning Brides, along with newer additions Autry Fulbright II and Justin Brown, the band promises a grand exit filled with energy, nostalgia, and raw punk power.
OFF! has scheduled three farewell performances in key cities—Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles—each paired with a premiere of “Free LSD”, a film that encapsulates the band’s spirit and artistic vision. These events will not only serve as a celebration of OFF!’s impactful career but also as unique experiences where fans can engage with the film and the artists through special Q&A sessions.
The farewell tour kicks off in Chicago with two events: a film premiere at the Music Box Theatre on July 17, followed by a live performance at Lincoln Hall with Shellac on July 18. The journey continues in New York City, where the Village East by Angelika will host the film premiere on July 19, followed by a live show at (Le) Poisson Rouge featuring Fucked Up on July 20. The tour concludes in Los Angeles with a performance at The Belasco, joined by Surfbort on July 26, and a final film screening at the Landmark Nuart Theatre on August 2.
Since their formation in late 2009, OFF! has been recognized for their concise and explosive approach to punk music. Described as “a vital blast of classic hardcore,” their style harks back to the early days of the genre, energized by the fierce and unrelenting vocals of Keith Morris. Their music often captures the raw essence of punk with short, intense songs that echo the rebellious spirit of their earlier days.
The band’s journey began at the 2010 South By Southwest Music Festival and quickly gained momentum with their dynamic live performances and significant releases like the “First Four EPs” box set, which showcased the art of Raymond Pettibon. With each album release, including their self-titled “Off!” and “Wasted Years”, the band solidified their place in punk rock history, continually delivering impactful, fast-paced music that resonates with fans old and new.
As OFF! prepares to close this chapter of their musical journey, the upcoming farewell shows and film premieres are a must-attend for fans eager to witness the final live performances of this iconic band.
